This document outlines the Worth School District 127's Local Wellness Policy, which is a foundational tool for promoting student health and wellness. The policy addresses key areas including comprehensive nutrition standards, education, promotion, and marketing guidelines; physical activity through education, diverse opportunities, and promotional initiatives; and other school-based activities designed to foster healthy lifestyles. The meeting included discussions on honoring veterans, recognizing National Board Members Day and a Certified Professional Supervisor, and the upcoming Worth Lions Food Drive. The board agreed to move the February Board of Education meeting date. An update was provided on the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) project. An overview of the FY25 Audit was presented. The 2025 Resolutions Committee Report was reviewed, and there was a presentation on the Estimated Tax Levy. An update was given regarding the Transfer Abatement Resolution and the Health Screening for all employees. The Illinois State Report Card was reviewed, and there was a presentation on state testing results and designations. The board also discussed the purchase of the Naglieri Assessment Test.

The meeting included updates on construction at Worthwoods and Worth Junior High, a report on the 2025 Resolutions Committee, and an update on the Worth Junior High fishing club. The board also reviewed the Naglieri assessment and discussed its potential adoption as a universal screener. The board discussed the upcoming boat cruise event scheduled during the Joint Annual Conference in November.

The Board of Education meeting included a report from the Superintendent, welcoming new staff for the 2025/2026 school year. The Assistant Superintendent for Business Services presented the FY26 final budget, discussed a contract for snow plow services, and presented the 2025-2026 compensation for IMRF employees and the FY 2024-2025 EIS administrator and teacher salary and benefits report. The board conducted a public hearing on the FY26 budget and approved consent agenda items, including board bills payable, payroll summary, first reading of board policy #119, compensation for IMRF employees, the EIS administrator and teacher salary and benefits report, a call list of substitute teachers and support staff, resignations and employment of classified staff. The board also discussed the Joint Annual Conference coming up in November.

The meeting included updates on construction projects at Worthwoods and Worth Junior High, a technology update regarding Chromebook replacements and cybersecurity enhancements, and information about the South Cook Division Governing Board Meeting. The board discussed the FY 2025 amended budget, EdCamp 2025, and approved the authorization to pay bills through June and July 2025. Additionally, the board approved the Superintendent Contract for Dr. Mark T. Fleming, beginning on July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 and a resolution authorizing disposal of surplus personal property.
