The Commissioners Court workshop session will cover a wide range of topics including construction status and maintenance updates, project management priorities, Juvenile Probation Department matters, Engineering Office and Road & Bridge Department updates, BellNET meeting review, Technology Services/Communications Center updates, and financial information such as budget planning and tax abatement policies. Additional discussions will address social services updates, personnel and human resources, EXPO Center modifications, emergency management, building and grounds updates, election/precinct issues, legislative sessions, open records requests, and potential litigation issues.
The Court addressed several agenda items, including renewal options for fiber installation and maintenance services, transportation of human remains, PennzSuppress D, and aggregate materials. They also discussed the disposal of IT equipment, a Memorandum of Understanding with Texas A&M AgriLife, and reviewed claims, accounts payable, payroll, restitution, and juror pay. Additionally, the court considered the status of an order restricting outdoor burning but took no action.
The meeting included discussion and approval of installing additional stop signs at the Chaparral and East Trimmier Road Intersection, changing the existing policy for the Bell County Infrastructure Requirements for Recreational Vehicle Parks, approving an annual contract with Global Asset Inc. for IT asset disposal, approving the last of three one-year renewals with Central Texas Mortuary Management, LLC for transportation of human remains, approving the last of three one-year renewals with DIJ Construction Inc. for pavement markings and raised pavement markers, and approving the first of four one-year renewal options with awarded vendors Cleveland Asphalt and Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions for asphalt oils and emulsions.
The Commissioners Court approved plans for railroad grade crossing devices on Big Elm Road, the 2013 Annual Seal Coat Program, and the final plat of Pecan School Addition. They also approved employee status report forms and considered an intergovernmental transfer of funds for Uncompensated Care payments. An Addendum to an Interlocal Agreement related to the proposed listing of Eurycea chisholmensis (Salado Salamander) was approved. The Court authorized the County Auditor to advertise for bank depository services and approved claims for review.
The meeting included an invocation and pledge of allegiance. The court discussed and approved several items on the consent agenda, including contract renewals for stone, base material, and construction material testing services, as well as contracts for janitorial and copier services. They also addressed inmate phone services, budget amendments for mental health indigent defense and the DPS Building. The court discussed the status of an order restricting outdoor burning and re-appointed members to the Bell County Exposition Center Board of Directors. They also authorized the issuance and sale of Limited Tax Refunding Bonds and approved a discretionary exemption for the purchase of radio equipment for the Office of Emergency Management.
