Castaic Union School District Budget Report

Board

The Second Interim report covers the period from July 1 through January 31. At second interim, the District's budget is adjusted to reflect changes since 1st Interim, subsequent legislation, and other factors that impact revenues and expenditures. The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is based on student attendance and is the primary source of on-going funding the District receives from the State. The District is budgeting the following LCFF factors based on current information. The District receives approximately 20% of its state revenue through the Education Protection Account (EPA) which is calculated using a district's ADA. For every dollar allocated to EPA the LCFF revenue is decreased by the same amount. The District uses EPA revenue to offset teacher salaries.
