The Appoquinimink School District's five-year strategic plan (Vision 2026) prioritizes academic success and social-emotional well-being, emphasizing equity, access, and cultural appreciation to close opportunity gaps. The plan focuses on five goals: ensuring a rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning environment; fostering a supportive environment for staff and students; providing high-quality support and opportunities for staff capacity building; establishing meaningful community engagement and collaboration; and living the commitment to equity and accelerating achievement for all stakeholders. Strategies include increasing student discourse, offering rigorous courses, providing certification and work-based learning, strengthening MTSS leadership and systems, ensuring staff well-being, providing professional development, building an instructional coaching framework, implementing school-based family and community engagement teams, articulating an engagement process for district decision-making, growing industry partnerships, and administering an annual school culture and climate survey. The plan aims to improve student outcomes, staff well-being, and community engagement, with specific metrics to track progress in areas such as student discourse, course offerings, work-based learning experiences, MTSS implementation, staff professional development, community engagement, and equity.
