This Strategic Plan aims to cultivate belonging, engagement, and mutual respect within the community, fostering inclusive and safe learning and work environments, academic excellence, robust growth opportunities for students and staff, and fiscal responsibility. It is guided by core values of equitable access, evidence-based and personalized instruction, meaningful collaborative relationships, and systemic implementation with accountability. The plan's strategic directions include improving teaching, learning, and assessment, providing equitable structures and supports, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, creating authentic family-community partnerships, and empowering staff to leverage data for organizational effectiveness.

The information session is regarding a bond proposal, the bond referendum. The proposal includes modernizing and updating all district buildings, improving the physical learning environment, updating district playgrounds, and reconfiguring the main entrance at Valley High School.

The meeting included discussion on course registration process for the upcoming school year, focusing on career pathways to help students select classes. The presentation covered how to find information online, specifically through the Valley High School and Valley Southwoods websites, and highlighted the availability of nine different career pathways with overviews, videos, career lists, course options, and four-year plans. Updates were provided on school improvements, attendance strategies, and upcoming events in performing arts and speech associations. Additionally, information was shared about post-secondary preparation, including career and interest inventories, resume builders, and resources for students considering college, apprenticeships, military service, or direct employment.

The meeting included discussions about built-in snow days, tours at the school, and a presentation by 6th graders. The district's deep equity training was discussed, focusing on equitable practices and celebrating cultural diversity. There was a discussion about cultural day and involving families from different cultures in the education of students. Committee reports covered topics such as the grade party, book fair, box tops, kids care club, and cultural day. Social events like the family prom and pancake breakfast were also discussed. The yearbook, rock the walk, and fundraising efforts were mentioned, along with suggestions for setting up a fundraising committee.

The workshop addressed recommendations for the upcoming school year, focusing on face coverings for staff, visitors, and students while inside buildings. The discussion included the implementation of hybrid option two and sought feedback on various aspects, including mitigation strategies and online learning support. The board also reviewed parent and teacher survey responses, covering topics such as comfort levels with returning to school and potential barriers to effective online instruction.
