Board meetings and strategic plans from Margaux Cruz's organization
The Alta Loma School District received and responded to a Public Records Act request. The request sought access to and copies of public records related to all executed contracts, purchase agreements, and purchase orders with Math instruction vendors and ELA instruction vendors including any exhibits, addenda, or amendments that are in effect or have been in effect in the last 3 years.
The meeting included recognitions and presentations, public comments, and board and superintendent reports. The consent calendar included routine agreements with vendors, approval of payments, personnel items, and board policies. The board also discussed and approved the 2025-26 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), the Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP), and the proposed district budget. Additionally, there was a discussion regarding a child nutrition adult/non-student meal price increase. The board also went into a closed session.
The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a comprehensive planning tool for California school districts, outlining goals, actions, and expenditures related to state and local priorities. It focuses on enhancing student achievement through conditions for learning, pupil outcomes, and engagement of parents and students. The plan utilizes funds from the Local Control Funding Formula, including Base Grants for all students and Supplemental funds for at-risk student groups, to address achievement gaps.
The meeting included recognitions and presentations, public comments, board and staff reports, and a consent calendar. The board discussed and took action on various items including routine agreements with vendors, payments to vendors, personnel items, and amended board policies and bylaws. Curriculum and instruction topics included the approval of the 2025-2026 School Plan for Student Achievement and the Benchmark-Adelante Spanish Curriculum. Business and financial procedures included the approval of a service agreement for edible food recovery. The board also discussed future agenda items and made announcements.
The Board of Trustees of the Alta Loma School District will hold a Public Hearing on the 2025-26 proposed Budget of the District for the year ending June 30, 2026 prior to the final adoption as required by Education Code Section 42103. The Public Hearing will include information about the 2025-26 Budget, including the minimum reserve level required for the current year Budget and subsequent two years, the amount of assigned and unassigned ending fund balance that exceeds the minimum in the Budget and subsequent two years, and the reason for the reserve being greater than the minimum.
