The board meeting agenda includes reports from the Leases and Agreements Committee regarding Foreign Trade Zone operating agreements and amendments. The Board approved an FTZ Operating Agreement with Geanto's Trucking Company and an amendment to the FTZ Operating Agreement for AFC Specialty Coatings Group, LLC. Additionally, financial reports for December 2025 and January 2026 were accepted. The Executive Director provided updates regarding an RFP for solar and battery storage, a partnership on a grant application for electrified freight systems, and ongoing staffing and advocacy efforts. The board also heard public comments regarding safety protocols and labor relations at the Port of Chicago involving QSL and Local 150.

The Illinois International Port District Master Plan provides a future vision and action plan for the organization's growth and development. It focuses on transforming the IIPD into a vibrant, multi-use port by concentrating and increasing shipping activities, developing recreational and conservation facilities, advancing environmental stewardship, achieving modernized and sustainable operations, and becoming an industry leader and community voice. The plan aims to enhance economic development, freight movement, public use of open space and waterways, and conservation of critical habitats, ensuring long-term utility and community benefits.
