The strategic plan emphasizes cultivating skills, knowledge, critical inquiry, innovation, and resilience to transform society. It focuses on faculty and staff excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, with student success at the heart. The plan includes goals for learning, community engagement, sustainability, and work environment, supported by the values of excellence, community, inclusion, transformation, and engagement. It builds on the previous plan (2017-2022) and adapts to changes within the SUNY system.

The College Council meeting covered various topics, including updates on student enrollment, new academic programs, the upcoming comprehensive campaign, and financial planning. Discussions also included the MetroCenter sale, SUNY updates, new campus initiatives, a budget overview, capital projects, deferred maintenance, and the College's advancement efforts. Reports were given on the ACT conference, the Building a Better Brockport annual report, and the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Committee program. The meeting also included updates on the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and the Business Dean search.

The council meeting covered various topics, including updates on presidential searches within SUNY, student mental health initiatives, and national trends in student alcohol and drug use. Discussions also included information from the AASCU meeting on career services, a report on the College's rebranding study, and updates on enrollment management and student affairs. The meeting also featured reports on campus news, including the approval of a new Doctor of Nursing Practice program, the hiring of a new dean for the School of Business, and the College's achievement of the NASPA LEAD Initiative Consulting Institution designation. Finally, the College's social media strategy was reviewed.

The College Council meeting included discussions on equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, updates on SUNY legislative agendas and funding, and the College's Middle States self-study report preparation. Other topics covered were the College's commitment to building a better Brockport, the CSTEP-McNair program funding, and the reaccreditation of the Masters in Social Work program. An executive session was held to discuss personnel and litigation matters.
