The Dartmouth College Strategic Campus Framework, "Planning for Possibilities," is a 30-year plan focused on creating a strong and connected campus that supports its diverse community and is financially sustainable. The plan addresses challenges related to health crises, climate change, evolving pedagogies, technological advancements, and the inclusion of diverse perspectives. Key areas of focus include engaging the campus community, creating a catalog of options for current and future needs, developing a common language for discussing opportunities, and providing a flexible framework for evaluating options. The plan emphasizes a strong and connected campus, financial sustainability, preservation of Dartmouth's campus character, and activation of campus landscapes. It also addresses regional mobility, sustainability and resilience, and the reuse and redevelopment of existing facilities. Specific initiatives include improving transportation modes, creating new shuttle routes, rebalancing parking, improving bicycle routes, optimizing building use, and implementing sustainable infrastructure. The plan also focuses on the renewal of undergraduate and graduate student housing, and the creation of new housing options for faculty and staff. Finally, it aims to improve the campus landscape, integrating nature into campus life and enhancing the resilience of both cultivated and natural landscapes.
