This document outlines Seneca East Local Schools' plan to address learning recovery and extended learning opportunities in response to Governor DeWine's directive following the coronavirus pandemic. The plan focuses on identifying and supporting students most impacted academically and socially-emotionally, particularly vulnerable populations, through detailed approaches for academic gap filling and social-emotional support. These approaches include comprehensive data analysis, tiered interventions, supplemental resources, credit recovery, counseling, and professional development for staff. The school's overarching vision is to be the first choice for every family, dedicated to the total development of each student through critical thinking, holistic growth, effective communication, maximizing potential, and fostering a strong work ethic.

This Student Wellness & Success Plan outlines initiatives and goals to support student well-being. Key priorities include providing comprehensive mental health services, trauma-informed curricula, child welfare services, community liaisons, physical healthcare, and family engagement support. The plan also focuses on youth mentoring, school-wide prevention, and individual counseling to improve school culture, reduce barriers to services, and enhance overall student mental, behavioral, and physical health. It incorporates measures for school safety and security, aiming to improve student discipline data and school climate.

The Seneca East Board of Education convened to discuss and act on various items, including a revised contract with North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, College Credit Plus Agreements with the University of Findlay and Heidelberg University, and the acceptance of a donation of an American flag. They also accepted a proposal for Student Accident Insurance and a gift of window inserts for building security. The board approved the Ohio Clean Diesel Grant for updating bus emission systems and a donation for a scholarship. They recognized students for athletic accomplishments and poster contest wins. Additionally, they approved a grant for afterschool programs, softball camp dates, a waiver for Middle School CTE programming, and a service agreement with the Seneca County Opportunity Center. Personnel actions were approved, including hiring coaches and student workers, and a Reduction In Force was approved due to bus route reorganization. Contract recommendations were made for various staff members, and personnel recommended by the Superintendent were approved, including hiring a volunteer track coach and a secondary teacher. The board also approved additional contract recommendations for staff members.

The Seneca East Board of Education convened to discuss several key items including approving the Treasurer's Report, a contract with Comp Management for claims administration services, designating Republic Banking Company and Attica Sutton Bank as depositories for funds. They also discussed a PBIS 5K/1K Fun Run, service provider contracts for internet service with Northern Ohio Educational Computer Association and Buckeye IT, and a maintenance service contract with Microman. Additionally, the board reviewed Board Policy 5530.01, a contract with Huron County Board of Developmental Disabilities, College Credit Plus Agreements with Terra State Community College, Tiffin University, and Owens Community College, and grants from the Seneca County Mental Health and Recovery Service Board. They also acknowledged a donation from Attica Lions, recognized students for outstanding accomplishments, approved the contract with NCOESC for English Language Assessment Service, set the "NO contact" period, scheduled the elementary football camp, and reviewed the list of student travelers for the Senior Trip. Personnel actions including hiring coaches and substitutes were also approved.

The Board discussed and approved several items, including the Treasurer's Report, a Buckeye IT Service contract for K-12 Wi-Fi and Network Management Service, and a revised list of Washington DC travelers and dates.
