The Budget Committee meeting addressed two key action items. The board reviewed and approved a special event and on-premise permit for the Appalachian Renaissance Faire of Tennessee. Additionally, the board approved an on-premise permit for Island Pointe Golf Course, allowing for the expansion of beverage sales on the property.

The board recognized the Seymour High School cheer team and presented a Summit Award to a Boy Scouts of America venturer. Discussions included several rezoning requests for various properties in the county, the appointment of judicial commissioners, and the confirmation of a new director for the Emergency Communications District Board of Directors. The board approved a Community Development Block Grant application for waterline extensions, the collection of unclaimed balances from the state, and the expansion project for the My People Senior Center. Additionally, the commissioners authorized a transition to a four-year reappraisal cycle, established intent to adopt updated standard inspection codes, classified new county roads, authorized state aid for road resurfacing, set speed limits on specific roads, and approved the transfer of property interests to the Sevierville Industrial Development Board. A request was made to the Tennessee General Assembly regarding protections from municipal regulations and annexation. Public comments focused on opposition to a proposed development on Red Bank Road and a request for assistance with property drainage issues on Sharp Road.

The committee held a meeting to address several proclamation and resolution requests. Key actions included the unanimous approval of proclamations honoring Cade Harvey, the King's Academy Girls Basketball Team, the Gatlinburg-Pittman Girls High School Basketball Team, and the Gatlinburg-Pittman Boys High School Basketball Team. Additionally, the committee reviewed and accepted the final agenda, subject to the approval of a specific handbook resolution by the Intergovernmental Committee.

The committee convened to evaluate the potential impact of a proposed development within the City of Sevierville on various county emergency service departments. Reports were provided by the Fire Prevention and Response, Emergency Management, Sheriff's Office, Central Communications, Highway Department, and Emergency Medical Services. Community members raised significant concerns regarding infrastructure, including the relocation of Red Bank Road, maintenance responsibilities, water pressure, and fire safety protocols within the proposed development area.
