The Chincoteague Town Council convened multiple meetings to address various town matters. Discussions included the installation of a plaque at the approach to Assateague, operation of the trolley system, and a survey by the Sign Committee of the Planning Commission. The council also reviewed the Harbor Rehabilitation Project, considered a request to hook up a septic treatment plant to the town's drainage system, and discussed proposals for a Geographic Information System (GIS). Other topics included the go-cart issue, nominations for the Chincoteague Recreational and Convention Center Authority, and the Christmas Decoration Program results. The council also considered draft amendments to the Noise Ordinance and Section 2.8 of the Zoning Ordinance, as well as a resolution for a Demonstration Grant application for the trolley system. Additionally, the council discussed a winter storage policy for Curtis Merritt Harbor, authorized the purchase of a new telephone system, and considered a plan to replace the Black Narrows and Chincoteague Channel Water Supply Main.

Other topics included a discussion of the March 2008 Draft Comprehensive Plan Update, broadband services, and a public hearing on the town's intent to apply for CDBG funding.
