The Strategic Plan for Bastrop Independent School District, approved in April 2022, outlines the organization's direction for educating over 12,000 students. It is structured around four key strategic priorities: Student Success & Well-Being, Teaching & Learning Practices, Organizational Culture, and Collaborative Partnerships. The plan aims to ensure every student graduates prepared for life's challenges and future opportunities, fostering a destination district of excellence.

The Bastrop Independent School District Board of Trustees held a regular meeting to discuss various topics. The board received a presentation from Bastrop High School Senior Haley Mendel on Perseverance. The Cedar Creek Middle School Theatre Arts Students presented a special preview of their upcoming Musical, Annie Jr. Bastrop Federation of Teachers President Rebecca Bennett presented Board members with employee satisfaction survey results. The board discussed an update of the Quad C program at BHS and CCHS and a report on the AYP Waiver Granted to Bastrop ISD and Resulting AYP Status. The board also discussed efforts by Bastrop County's Long Term Recovery Team and considered approval of the Bastrop County Elections Administrator Contract. The board also discussed calling Board of Trustees Election for May 11, 2013 for Place 5, Place 6 and Place 7. The board also approved General Fund Budget Amendment and American Indian Education Program Shared Services Agreement with Austin ISD. The board also approved Integrated Continuous Improvement Plan and All Matters Incident and Related to the Issuance and Sale of the Bastrop Independent School District Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2013.

The meeting included a presentation of a proclamation by the City of Bastrop for Black History Month and special recognition of Cedar Creek Middle School and Bastrop Middle School Cafe Staff. The Superintendent's Report included a curriculum report with a presentation on Portal Classes, a financial report, a personnel report, and a communications/community services report with a strategic planning update, a Beyond the Bell Presentation, and Texas Public Schools Week. The board also considered approval of the school calendar for the 2015-2016 school year, a resolution authorizing tax resale, and changing the date of the regular March school board meeting. Information items included the District Wide Calendar, Enrollment, the 2015-2016 Budget Calendar, TASB Policy Update 101, and revisions to TASB Policy BE (LOCAL) and FM (LOCAL).

The meeting included a curriculum report with a SHAC end-of-year update, a financial report discussing TASB Policy CE (LOCAL), and a personnel report. The board considered canceling the July 15, 2014 meeting and discussed the 2014-2015 Student Code of Conduct and revisions to BISD Dress and Grooming Guidelines, as well as revisions to TASB Policy EIC (LOCAL). A presentation was given by GCA Services Group regarding a contract for maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds, with potential cost savings for the district. The board also considered the recommendation and approval of Architect Services RFQ #2014-11. Additionally, there was a closed session to discuss real property and possible conveyance of property to Austin Habitat for Humanity.

The meeting included discussions on the curriculum report, covering the 2011-2012 Bilingual/ESL Education Annual Program, a presentation on co-teaching, a draft school calendar for the 2013-2014 school year, and STAAR results. The financial report was reviewed, and there were personnel and communications/community services reports, including updates on Texas Public Schools Week and Strategic Planning Year 2. The board also discussed the transfer policy for the 2013-2014 school year and elementary attendance zone leveling. The consent agenda included minutes from January 10 and 15, 2013, bids for beverage vending services, an additional qualified PDAS appraiser, general fund and food service budget amendments, the district investment report, and the instructional materials allotment and TEKS certification form. Action items included a contract for laying the foundations training. Information items covered the district-wide calendar, enrollment, the 2013-2014 budget calendar, and TASB Policy Update 96. The meeting also addressed administrator's contracts and action resulting from a closed session.
