This Regional Urban Water Management Plan establishes a long-term, coordinated framework for water resource planning and management for the Mojave Region through the year 2050. The plan addresses the regional challenge of groundwater overdraft by detailing the strategic management of groundwater, imported State Water Project supplies, recharge operations, return flows, recycled water, transfers, exchanges, and stored water assets. It aims to provide a consistent assessment of long-term water supply reliability, support groundwater sustainability, and mitigate regional vulnerability to drought, climate change, and population growth, ensuring reliable water supplies under normal, single dry, and five consecutive dry year conditions.

This plan provides a strategic roadmap for water agencies to manage salt and nutrient loading, ensure compliance with state antidegradation policies, and promote a sustainable water supply for the long term.
