The council discussed and adopted the Perry County Inmate Contract. The Chief of Police provided information on changes and a proposed plan to the city's jail, traffic citations, misdemeanors, and other arrests made. The council approved the purchase of informative supplies with a budget of $1,500.00 for the police department. Emergency funds were approved to repair the lift station on College St., the sewer line on Hwy. 14, and the transmission in the water truck. An executive session was held to discuss general reputation/good name and character and pending litigations with the attorney and other legal representatives.

The council meeting included monthly reports from the Chief of Police, Water Superintendent, Court Magistrate, Street and Sanitation Superintendent, and the City Clerk-Treasurer. The council agreed to accept the Municipal Workers Compensation Estimated Contribution Billing Finance Agreement. Mrs. Floresteen Smith was re-appointed as Commissioner to the Housing Authority. The council discussed park repairs and approved the use of Community Development Funds for valve work at the city's water plant. An MOU between the Perry County Commission and the City of Marion for culvert repairs was approved. The council discussed a petition for speed breakers on Magnolia Street and a request for engineering services regarding erosion behind a business on Jackson St. The council also designated delegates for the 2023 Annual Alabama League of Municipalities business meeting and allowed members to attend the conference.
