Eleven schools received recognition from the Georgia Department of Education for outstanding implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) for the 2024-2025 school year, noted for sustained success in reducing discipline referrals. Specific recognized schools included Chattahoochee, Mashburn Elementary, New Hope Elementary, Sonnie Elementary, Silver City Elementary, Whitlo Elementary, Liberty Middle, Piney Grove Middle, Riverwatch Middle, and South Forsyth Middle. Lori Benson from Pools Mill Elementary was recognized as the first Forsyth County Schools employee of the month for her dedication as a pair professional. Additionally, Dave's Creek Elementary presented a spotlight on their journey toward STEM certification, highlighting initiatives such as a schoolwide readaloud centered on 'The World According to Humphrey,' STEM day activities connecting literature to science, a new podcasting project funded by a grant, and the integration of 3D printing and robotics throughout the curriculum.
