The 2026 State and Federal Legislative Program for SunLine Transit Agency is designed to advocate for policies and secure funding that enhance the safety, efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility of public transportation in the Coachella Valley. The program focuses on key elements such as securing dedicated funding, advocating for legislation that supports transit needs, identifying opportunities for workforce development, and removing statutory and regulatory barriers to innovative and environmentally responsible transit solutions. This initiative aims to strengthen SunLine's position as a leader in sustainable transit and advance community connectivity, job creation, and economic vitality.

The Strategic Planning & Operational Committee/Committee of the Whole meeting agenda included several information and recommendation items. Key discussions centered on the Workforce Training Center Facility Equity Analysis, which evaluated three potential sites (Site 1, Site 2, and Site 3) regarding Title VI compliance and potential impacts, concluding no disparate impact would occur. Additionally, the meeting involved a continuation of Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 SunLine Goals, Strategic Objectives and Priorities, detailing progress across various goals such as Workforce Investment (including the ATLAS mentor program and zero-emission training curriculum development) and leadership capacity building through coaching and strategic planning workshops. Public comments were received for both agenda and non-agenda items.
