The Planning Commission received a report from the Department of Building Safety regarding year-to-date construction permit statistics and inspection volumes. A public hearing was held, and a subsequent new business item was addressed concerning a Special Land Use permit request; however, both were concluded without action due to the applicant withdrawing the application. The Data Center Committee provided updates on the ongoing efforts to draft a Data Center Ordinance, including plans for future collaboration and research into utility infrastructure impacts. Additionally, the Planning and Zoning Consultant presented a draft Site Condominium Ordinance, introducing a proposed two-step review process for such developments. Finally, the commission discussed the potential future exploration of regulations regarding Accessory Dwelling Units.

The board received a presentation regarding the Red Arrow Highway reconstruction plans. Additionally, they approved Resolution #26-6 supporting the formation of a Berrien County-Wide Public Transportation Authority. The board also heard presentations from six candidates seeking appointment to the open trustee position.

Additionally, the commission recommended that the Township Board adopt a 10-month moratorium on data center applications to allow for ordinance development. The meeting also included a report on building safety and construction permitting data.
