The January 13, 2026, Commissioners' Workshop Agenda included a discussion item regarding the Strategic Plan for Federal Grants and Lobbying Efforts led by Merchant McIntyre & Associates, LLC. Another key item involved a review of the Draft Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, involving the CIO, Deputy CIO, and County Solicitors. The agenda also noted that public comment would be accepted in person, limited to 30 minutes total.

The Berks County 2025-2029 WIOA Multi-Year Local Plan outlines a strategic vision to cultivate a skilled and competitive workforce in alignment with economic development efforts. It focuses on five main goals: leveraging industry sector strengths through technical training, fostering employer engagement for talent retention and development, expanding employment opportunities for adults facing barriers, connecting young adults to careers, and building a future talent pipeline through career readiness and technical education for school-aged populations.
