The Magma Flood Control District meeting included updates on the Middle Magma Regional Flood Control Project, covering the status of the Watershed Plan, Environmental Assessment, and Finding of No Significant Impact, all approved by NRCS, BLM, and BOR. Discussions also involved the 90% design plans submitted to NRCS and the ongoing documentation and acquisition of needed Land Rights. The meeting addressed the agreement between MFCD and Pinal County to fund project costs, efforts to clarify drainage easement rights, and the impact of the Federal Government shutdown on project timelines. The board also discussed and approved expenditures, the annual report to Pinal County, and audited financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2025. Additionally, the General Manager was granted authority to finalize an agreement with Advisent Assurance, LLP for CPA audit services from 2026 to 2032.

The meeting included discussion of the ratification of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors RESOLUTION NO. 090325-ED, which cancelled the election of board members and appointed Stacy Brimhall. The current Board Officers were re-appointed. Updates were provided on the Middle Magma Regional Flood Control Project, including the status of the Watershed Plan, Environmental Assessment, and design plans. The board discussed an amendment to the agreement between NRCS and MFCD, granting additional federal funding to the design phase of the flood control project. Authority was granted to the General Manager to obtain land rights for the Middle Magma Regional Flood Control Project and to negotiate an agreement with the Town of Florence for improvements to Hunt Highway. The board also approved changing the date of the March 4, 2026, board meeting to March 11, 2026. Potential increased activity on mining railroads was noted.
