The board meeting included the recognition of various students and staff for academic, athletic, and leadership accomplishments. Presentations covered an update on a band trip to Ireland, a report on digital safety and citizenship lessons, an update on hazardous transportation routes for the upcoming school year, and a budget update. The board approved the consent agenda and the 2026-2027 employee compensation plan, which includes a 3.5% raise for staff and increases in starting teacher salaries and stipends for specialized areas.

The joint meeting focused on several agenda presentations, including a 3D printing project involving the fire department and students, commercial passenger service at the McKinney National Airport, the school district's strategic plan, new school district maps, joint safety initiatives, the NCAA Division II Football Championship, economic development projects, and growth and development. Members from both boards expressed their appreciation for the strong partnership between the city and the school district.

The Board convened to conduct a closed session for consultation with legal counsel and a hearing regarding a Level III grievance appeal. Following the return to open session, the Board voted to deny the appeal, thereby upholding the administration's decision at the Level II stage.

The Board met to discuss and take action on a recommendation regarding the mid-year termination of a probationary contract and suspension without pay of a district employee. The board entered a closed session to consult with legal counsel and deliberate on personnel matters before reconvening to formally approve the recommendation.

The meeting included several recognitions for staff and students, including awards for excellence in counseling, athletics, and fine arts, as well as the naming of the district as an Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll School. Public comments addressed school rezoning, public education support, and safety concerns. The board conducted an executive session regarding the superintendent contract, safety, and personnel. Presentations were provided on the Texas Academic Performance Report and the College, Career, and Military Readiness goals, as well as an update on the district's strategic plan regarding communications. The board approved various financial reports, including budget amendments, and addressed facilities projects, such as school refreshes, an audit engagement, and various waivers for teacher certification and bad weather days. Additionally, the board approved the superintendent's contract.
