Furthermore, the Board approved the declaration of need for fully qualified educators, the 2026-2027 governance calendar, and updated board policy mandates. Finally, the Board appointed a new community school coordinator for the Dual Language Academy of the Monterey Peninsula.

The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a strategic document aimed at increasing student achievement and ensuring continuous improvement and growth toward academic standards. It aligns with the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and federal ESSA requirements. The plan focuses on key areas including enhancing English Language Arts proficiency, accelerating English Language Development for emerging bilingual students, improving Mathematics performance, implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to foster positive school climate and reduce chronic absenteeism, and strengthening Parent Engagement in decision-making and school activities. The overarching goal is to support academic achievement, college and career readiness, and student and parent engagement.
