The Special School Board Meeting included the pledge of allegiance and the approval of the agenda. The primary focus of the meeting involved two separate executive sessions conducted sequentially for personnel matters, as permitted under SDCL 1-25-2(1). Following the executive sessions, the meeting was adjourned.

The school board meeting included setting the school board election date for June 2, 2026, and approving contracts for a JH Boys Basketball Coach and a consultant for the school improvement plan. The board also approved a resolution to refund the Series 2017 General Obligation Bonds and conducted a second reading of the IIAC Library Materials Selection and Adoption policy, as well as a first reading of policies related to public complaints about curriculum or instructional materials and library opt-out forms. An executive session was held for personnel matters.

The Alcester-Hudson School District's strategic direction is guided by its mission to inspire every student daily, fostering achievement, confidence, and inspiration. The core priorities focus on enhancing student engagement and critical thinking, implementing proactive behavior interventions, developing a robust curriculum, and strengthening community and family relationships.

The meeting addressed the possible refinancing of bonds, improvements to the softball field, and approval of contracts for an assistant wrestling coach and an administrative assistant. Policies regarding special education, graduation ceremony decorations, and exemptions from school attendance were also approved. Additionally, the board discussed the disposal of a pickup, approved a new scoreboard for the football field, and held a first reading of policies related to library materials selection. An executive session was held to discuss the qualifications, competence, performance, character, or fitness of public officers or employees.

The special board meeting included the Pledge of Allegiance, a period for public input, and an addition to the agenda. The main item of new business was gavel training with ASBSD. The meeting was then adjourned.
