The Grant County Commission convened to review and adopt the 2026 budget and the 5-Year Highway Plan. Changes to the Provisional Budget for 2026 were adopted, including adjustments to revenue, expenses across various departments, and operating transfers. The commission also adopted the 2026 Budget Resolution to establish the tax call and levy. Revisions to the 5-year Highway Plan were addressed due to the county not qualifying for two bridge BIG Grants for the 2026 construction season, and the commission adopted the revised plan. An executive session was held for a personnel issue, resulting in the approval of hiring a Deputy Auditor.

They addressed public comments regarding rip rap installation and road repairs, reviewed the Auditor's Account with the Treasurer, and handled multiple drainage permits. Budget changes for 2026 were presented, and the appointment of Melissa Mueller as the Coordinator of Shooting Sports and Roger Hoff as Grant County Commissioner of District 5 were approved following executive sessions.

The agenda includes drainage permits for Mark Wollschlager and Keith Jibben, an agreement with SDDOT Hwy Rail Dept, approval of ROW and Utilities Certificate for bridge replacement project, approval of signing Joint Powers Bridge Improvement Grant Agreement for Preliminary Engineering for bridge, Haz Mat approval, an update on spraying season, and discussion of various items including travel approval, county assistance, and a revision to personnel policy regarding weapons. There will be executive sessions for personnel and litigation issues.
