The board meeting included the introduction and reintroduction of commissioners, followed by comments from the chair and Mayor Gatewood. Discussions were held regarding preservation efforts in Virginia City, alongside a report from the Executive Director and updates from the Department of Commerce. The session also provided an opportunity for public comment on items under the purview of the Department of Commerce.

The board discussed department updates, budget reports, and project status updates. Key actions included the approval of an extension request for a grant. Furthermore, the board reviewed and made decisions on several new grant applications, including awarding funds for a boiler replacement project, a roll-off truck purchase, fire department equipment, and a dump truck. Other applications for fleet vehicles, bus loop improvements, and a visitor center project were either denied or failed to pass.

The meeting included an update from the Acting Executive Director, a review of the Department of Commerce financial reports, and a presentation regarding Stonewall Hall. The commission also reviewed a 99-year lease proposal from the Fire Department and ultimately decided to postpone action on the proposal until the following March meeting. The floor was also opened for public comment.

The Commission reviewed the current financial activity and fund balance. Discussion points included the potential reduction of the Irish Studies program at the University of Montana, highlights from calls with international officials, and challenges faced by Montana fishing companies regarding tariffs. Reports were presented on Irish study course academic reviews, the Montana State University International Engineering Certificate program, and a recap of the Photonics West Trade Show. The Commission also deliberated on transitioning to a non-profit model, ultimately voting to refer the proposal to Commerce staff for further legal review and recommendation.
