The 2020-2021 Ashdown School District Support Plan focuses on ensuring the continuity of teaching and learning through blended learning (K-12), utilizing diagnostic assessments (K-8), and addressing unfinished learning from the prior year. The plan details the use of various learning management systems (LMS) such as Seesaw, BUZZ, Google Classroom, and APEX, along with diagnostic tools like Curriculum Associates and iReady. The district will use diagnostic assessments to identify student needs, align curriculum, and provide support through grade-level teams and specialized personnel. A key component is the use of the Arkansas Playbook to address learning gaps. The plan also outlines communication strategies for parents, students, and the community, including meetings to discuss expectations for off-site learning and the provision of technology resources (Chromebooks and connectivity) to all students. Several waivers were requested to accommodate the plan's implementation, particularly concerning non-instructional duties, teacher contracts, classified employee policies, and school day requirements during technology-based instruction.
