The Plan Commission discussed a variance request from Elisha Sterling to construct a storage building exceeding size and height limits, which was approved. They also addressed a request from Loren & Marsha Wingard to rebuild turkey barns, which was approved with a condition to discuss final dimensions. Additionally, the commission reviewed a request from J & L Construction LLC to change the size of lots in Deerfield Subdivision, recommending it to the City Council for final approval. The progress of the truck stop development along Interstate 69 and US Highway 50 and the development on Clements Drive were also discussed.

Discussion on Ordinance No. 20-2025 regarding appropriations and tax rates for Washington Civil City for 2026.

The Common Council meeting addressed several key areas including a presentation by Richard Burch from Midwestern Engineers regarding proposed projects for the east side, including the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant. Chris Janak from Bose McKinney explained the resolution sets in motion the process for the City to begin construction plans, take bids, estimate rates and begin the process of selling bonds to cover the expenses for the projects. Bob Grewe provided updates from the Daviess County Economic Development, mentioning the demolition of the GAB drive through and discussing business attraction, retention, infrastructure, and workforce development. The council also discussed amended encumbrances and the upcoming pool opening, as well as speeding concerns on Brett Cabel.

Discussion of Ordinance No. 13-2025, concerning additional appropriations for the City of Washington, Indiana, related to the Community Crossings Match Grant.

The meeting included a discussion and approval of financing for a new Storm Water Street Sweeper, with the council accepting a bid from Crossroads Bank. There was a reminder of a follow-up meeting on the landlord rental dwelling agreement and announcements about upcoming community events, including "First Friday" at the Commons and Food Truck Tuesday at East Side Park.
