Additionally, the commission finalized and approved the language for a millage renewal for fire department equipment to be placed on the upcoming ballot.

The board received two primary presentations. The first focused on upcoming airport events, including a multimodal summit featuring electric vehicle demonstrations such as an EV shuttle, an electric boat, and proposed electric flight testing. The second presentation detailed the toll bridge rehabilitation project, covering the project's historical context, extensive structural, mechanical, and electrical improvement plans, and the upcoming bidding and construction schedule aimed at extending the bridge's service life.

The commission approved the monthly vouchers and the treasury report. Members authorized the purchase of a Ford F250 pickup truck, utilizing a state cooperative bidding contract. The meeting included comprehensive updates on engineering and public works projects, including sanitary sewer system televising, manhole rehabilitation, and the progress of asphalt paving on Grace Drive. Additionally, the commission discussed the five-year renewal of the Violia contract, the installation of replacement sludge pumps, and the ongoing Project Performance Certification (PPC) process required for wastewater treatment plant capacity upgrades.

The Election Commission convened to address several action items regarding the upcoming primary election. Key discussions included authorizing election assistants, establishing absent voter counting boards, and appointing election inspectors and receiving board officials for the primary. The commission also authorized the clerk to appoint emergency election inspectors as needed and subsequently transitioned into a study session to perform a public accuracy test on election equipment.

The board received public comments regarding a support for a variance request. Additionally, the board reviewed and acted upon Appeal 24-005, which involved a request for a variance from the standards of Chapter 103 concerning fences and walls.
