The committee addressed several resolutions, including a directive to the Planning Board to conduct a redevelopment study for the Burke Road Landfill property. Budget amendments were approved for various grants, including the FY 2025 Bulletproof Vest Grant, the National Opioid Settlement, and Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund grants for Geislers Farm and 1075 West Main Street. The committee supported intersection improvements for County Route 537 and Thompson Grove Road, authorized fireworks for Freehold Township Day, awarded an HVAC maintenance contract, and entered into a community development cooperation agreement with the County of Monmouth. Furthermore, the committee approved a shared services agreement for IT services with the Township of Ocean, a contract for a water treatment plant boiler, and the placement of an added tax lien for code violations. Additionally, the committee renewed numerous 2026-2027 liquor licenses, accepted bids for special shopping mall liquor licenses, and amended professional services contracts for legal counsel.

The agenda focuses on several development and variance applications, including a major subdivision, site plan amendments for a warehouse expansion, and variance requests for accessory structures. Key discussion topics include the consideration of an ordinance adopting a redevelopment plan for properties on Jackson Mills Road, an appeal of a zoning officer's determination regarding a batting cage, and the authorization of a study to determine if specific properties are in need of redevelopment.

The commission discussed various heritage projects, including the Monmouth 250 exhibit, the successful Spirit of '76 Tea, and the ongoing efforts to update history room biographies. Plans for a new Heritage Society logo contest were introduced. Facility maintenance updates were provided, including bathroom and window replacements at historic sites. The commission reviewed cemetery preservation efforts, including headstone cleaning and fence repairs at Wikoff Hill Burial Ground. Additionally, the commission outlined a five-year budget plan to address property repairs, such as roof replacement on barns, tree removals, and interior plaster repairs at the Oakley Farmhouse.

The coalition conducted a prioritization process to establish priority areas for the 2016-2020 Monmouth County CHIP. Attendees were divided into breakout groups to identify key health issues, which were subsequently consolidated. A voting process was held to determine the most critical focus areas, resulting in the selection of Mental Health, Healthy Equity, and Healthy Lifestyle as the three priority areas for the initiative.

This document provides an overview of the Healthy New Jersey 2020 strategic plan, focused on improving population health by strengthening New Jersey's health system. The plan aims to keep healthy residents well, prevent illness, and manage chronic conditions through prevention, wellness, and equity. Key priority areas include Access to Care, Heart Disease, Improving Birth Outcomes, Childhood Immunizations, Obesity, and Behavioral Health. Its goals are to attain high-quality, longer lives free of preventable disease, achieve health equity, create supportive social and physical environments, and promote quality of life and healthy behaviors across all life stages.
