The Commission meeting agenda covered various items including Sheriff's Office and Fire Department communications, and committee reports covering Public Safety, Public Utilities, Budget and Finance (including the FY24-25 Audit Report), Public Works, and Parks and Recreation. Old Business involved deferring the 2nd Reading and Public Hearing for Ordinance 325 regarding rezoning land on Hixson Pike to February 17, 2026. New Business included the introduction and 1st Reading of Ordinance 326 concerning air pollution control, and consideration of resolutions authorizing applications for park facility funding (Resolution 132), designating surplus items (Resolution 133), Façade Improvement Grant Award Selection, City Manager Contract Revision, and evaluation of the FY25-26 Paving Plan for bidding.

The Lakesite City Commission held a regular meeting to discuss various topics. These included reports from the Sheriff's Office and Fire Department, and citizen comments regarding a potential boat ramp. The commission also discussed legislation impacting sales tax and EMS funding, as well as a sinkhole issue. There were discussions on revenues and expenses, stormwater work progress, and a proposal for a pickleball court and hiking trail on TVA property. The commission also addressed an ordinance amendment for mixed-use zones, flood regulations, and peddler/solicitor regulations. They approved participation in a property conservation grant program and discussed drainage improvements along Old Hixson Pike, along with a storm drainage system map update.

Old business was addressed, and new business included ordinances related to zoning, floodplain management, and peddlers/solicitors, as well as a resolution to declare certain city-owned property as surplus. A donation to the Loftis Music Program was also discussed. Additionally, there were discussions regarding the stormwater project, drainage conditions, and pool house bids.

The commission also conducted a second reading and public hearing for an ordinance amending the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026. New business included a resolution to declare certain city-owned property as surplus and directing its disposal, a change order for a stormwater project involving cost reduction and partial re-allocation of funds, and consideration of a bid award for the Pool House, with John Bryan Construction as the lowest bidder.

The commission discussed and took action on Ordinance 320 regarding the property tax rate and also discussed Ordinance 321, which amends the budget for the fiscal year. Additionally, the commission discussed and approved the renewal of a contract with the Southeast Tennessee Development District and a sales proposal for live streaming of commission meetings.
