The meeting included the swearing in of a new board member, recognition of student achievements, and commendation of retiring staff members. The board reviewed resignations of several staff members and approved new appointments for the 2023-2024 school year. A presentation on enrichment opportunities for EDC students was given. The board also approved several staff transfers, title/position changes, and the formation of summer committees. Finally, the board approved representatives for the Burlington County Crisis Response Team and the second and final reading of several policies and regulations.

The Lumberton Township Board of Education will comply with the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The Board of Education will maintain either a combined fiscal effort per student, or aggregate expenditures, of State and local funds with respect to the provision of the free public education by the Local Education Agency (LEA) for the preceding fiscal year that is not less than ninety percent of the combined fiscal effort per student, or the aggregate expenditures, for the second preceding fiscal year. The Superintendent was directed to assign teachers, administrators, and auxiliary personnel to the schools in such a way that the equivalence of personnel is ensured among schools and to distribute curriculum materials and instructional supplies to the schools in such a way that the equivalence of such material is ensured among schools. Grant funds provided under Federal programs, including the ESEA as amended by the ESSA, shall supplement, not supplant the funds that would, in the absence of such Federal funds, be made available from State and local sources for the education of students participating in programs assisted under the ESEA as amended by the ESSA.
The Board of Education meeting included a presentation on the strategic planning process, mission statement, and goals. Several staff appointments were approved: Nicole Adamski as a full-time BCBA, Christina Nicholson as a full-time day custodian, and Jason Llanos as a full-time evening custodian. The resignations of Tia Fanourgakis and Jenna Carrell were also accepted. The board approved the 2022-2023 Report Period 1 Student Safety Data Annual Report, the 2023-2024 School Calendar, and several job descriptions and policy updates.
