The council meeting included a motion to pay the bills, reading of RESOLUTION 2025-40 and RESOLUTION 2025-41, setting a public hearing for the street light and snow removal assessments, and an executive session to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal or discipline of a public employee or the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee.

The council discussed a temporary budget legislation and received updates from the Police Chief regarding statistics, new vests for officers, and the potential consultation with a policy firm. The Fire Chief provided statistics and reported an issue with the Coast Guard, as well as securing a grant for more radios. The Deputy Administrator reported on public works, the Golf Course, zoning statistics, and current projects. The council approved the 2026 tax (alternative budget) for fiscal year 2025 and approved the bid from TK Excavating & Grading, LLC for the Shadowbrook Culvert repair and replacmement project. The next council meeting dates and times were announced.

The Village Council passed several ordinances and resolutions, including authorizing the Village Administrator, Mayor, and/or Village Fire Chief to apply for and accept grants related to the MARCS Radio Grant Program and the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for fiscal year 2025. Shawn K. Fischbach was appointed as Councilmember to fill a vacancy, and Gary Himes was honored for his public service. Additionally, authorization was given to apply for the Coastal Management Assistance Grant Program for supplemental funding of the Old Lake Road / Township Park Shoreline Project.

The Village Council passed a resolution approving the 2026 Tax (Alternative Budget) for Fiscal Year 2025. Additionally, an ordinance was approved for the bid from TK Excavating & Grading, LLC for the Shadowbrook Culvert Repair and Replacement Project, authorizing the Mayor, Fiscal Officer, and Deputy Administrator to execute necessary agreements.
