Denver Public Schools' strategic plan is dedicated to providing equitable access to high-quality education, fostering inclusive environments, and preparing students for success in college, career, and life. The plan focuses on academic achievement, equity and inclusion, family and community engagement, talent development, and operational excellence. Key performance indicators include increasing graduation rates, improving proficiency rates, closing achievement gaps, enhancing family engagement, and maintaining high teacher retention rates. The long-term vision is to ensure every student is prepared to thrive in a diverse and dynamic world.

The meeting included an update on the PCard Audit, a report from the Chair of the Committee, and discussions regarding several items for the Board of Education's Consent Agenda. The committee discussed and moved forward items such as the St. Anthony School Funding Agreement, Instructional Materials Adoption, the Cenpatico Contract, and the Pre-Approval Desktop/Laptop Provider Award to Dell, to the Board of Education's consent agenda. The meeting also included a Grant Award Report and a Procurement Report as items of general interest.

The Board of Education convened for a work session and an executive session. The executive session was held for the purpose of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions. The board adjourned the executive session and subsequently adjourned the work session.

The Board of Education convened for a special meeting that included the certification of election results and the swearing-in of newly elected board members. The board temporarily suspended a portion of Board Policy BCB to accommodate a board member's transition period, allowing her to continue as an employee of the district until a specified date.

The meeting included the certification of election results by the Denver Election Commission for the School Board election. The newly elected Board members, including Happy Haynes, Anne Rowe, and Lisa Flores, took their Oath of Office, which was administered by Judge Karen Ashby. Board members also signed affidavits related to compliance with confidentiality requirements for executive sessions.
