The Amber Township Election Commission meeting included the tabulator program testing and security certification. Tabulator two was tested and prepared for the August 5, 2025 Special Election. The appointment of election inspectors for the August 5, 2025 Special Election was also addressed, along with the appointment of the Chairperson and Receiving Board.

The Amber Township Board meeting included discussions and actions on several key areas. The board approved the Investment and Depository Policy Resolution. There was an update on the NextEra Energy project, with plans to begin in the spring of 2026. The board discussed the possibility of appointing a township representative for the Mason County Multi-Use Trails Segment 4 and reviewed the township's marijuana ordinance, deciding to maintain the existing ordinance. Additionally, the board members explored ways to enhance meeting effectiveness based on insights from an MTA academy.

The Amber Township Board meeting included reports from the Assessor, Mason County Sheriff, and Township Attorney. The Assessor discussed paperwork processing, land divisions, and a Disabled Veterans Exemption, as well as the need to fill vacant positions for the Board of Review. The Mason County Sheriff's Department addressed traffic and safety concerns due to road construction. The Township Attorney requested a closed session for a legal discussion about a tax tribunal case. The Planning Commission discussed a special land use permit request for a cell tower and a convention/wedding venue. The RFA discussed the upcoming millage, and the Mason County Sheriff Department presented information on the capabilities of their drones. Road paving was completed on several roads. The board also discussed street lights, elections, hall and grounds maintenance, cemeteries, and junk authority reports. Additionally, the board discussed township procedures related to investment and depository resolutions and accepted an updated bid policy. The board also held a closed session meeting with the attorney to discuss legal action for a Michigan Tax Tribunal case.

The Amber Township Board had a planning session to discuss the future of Amber Township. Topics included establishing a transfer station for recycling and brush disposal, extending the Meyer Road sewer, continuing investment in Township roads, tire recycling options, and managing growth along the US-10 corridor to increase the township tax base. The possibility of rescinding Ordinance 2019-1 to allow Marihauna Establishments in Amber Township was also discussed. Additionally, the idea of having a Township park was mentioned, and the potential for grant money for erosion control in Amber Township was explored.

The Amber Township Board meeting included reports from the assessor, Mason County Sheriff, Mason County Commissioner, and DPW. The board discussed a new pump upgrade at lift station three and approved the associated costs. Updates were provided on the Attorney General Audit Investigation, and the board decided to take no further action at this time. New business included presentations on the Amber Energy Storage Project and the upcoming Rural Fire Ballot Proposal. The board also discussed township procedures, including the need for an Investment Policy, Assets and Internal controls section, and completion of the credit card policy.
