There was also discussion regarding Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP), DHS training opportunities, domestic extremism training efforts, and IFAT kits.
The Kansas Law Enforcement Resources Working Group (KLERG) meeting included updates from various regions and organizations, such as the NW, NC, and NE Regions, as well as the Sheriff's Association, KPOA, KBI, FBI/JTTF, KDEM, and KHP. Discussions covered topics such as equipping law enforcement officers with tactical medical kits, CRMCS enhancements, and the law enforcement review process. The group also addressed the vetting process for projects, the State Preparedness Report activity, and inquiries about funding for security measures in schools following the Parkland shooting.
The meeting included discussions on the Basic School Resource Officer (SRO) and Advanced SRO courses, Incident Management Teams (IMT) versus the Incident Support Team (IST) concept, and updates from the Patrol on their deployment to Louisiana. Additional topics included the tactical first aid kits, anti-drone technology, and SC SWAT sustainment funding for SWAT training. The SPR Review was also discussed, and new business included the vetting of projects with Law Enforcement Set Aside Review. The group also discussed combatting domestic terrorism.
