The meeting included welcoming a new member, updates on the FY25 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and FEMA grant holds due to DEIA concerns. There were discussions regarding the closure of FY21 and FY22 grants, with an extension request submitted for FY22. Membership reports covered regional updates, KDEM's emergency management partnership, and changes at KLETC. The JTTF reported on potential threats to Kansas. The group also discussed the publishing of the October 29 minutes and updates on grants.

The meeting included a welcome to new member John Defore from the Hiawatha Police Department representing KPOA. Bramlett will collaborate with KLETC to schedule an in-person October meeting for reviewing projects with LE funding. The Governor has issued an Executive Order for a Cybersecurity Task Force that may meet with the working group. FEMA is reaching out to KS for a possible increase in funding for trafficking, cartels, and transnational terrorist organizations.

The meeting included a review of projects without KLERWG vetting, discussion of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), and updates from the Deputy HSA TAG on Cybersecurity. There was also discussion regarding Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP), DHS training opportunities, domestic extremism training efforts, and IFAT kits.

The Kansas Law Enforcement Resources Working Group (KLERG) meeting included updates from various regions and organizations, such as the NW, NC, and NE Regions, as well as the Sheriff's Association, KPOA, KBI, FBI/JTTF, KDEM, and KHP. Discussions covered topics such as equipping law enforcement officers with tactical medical kits, CRMCS enhancements, and the law enforcement review process. The group also addressed the vetting process for projects, the State Preparedness Report activity, and inquiries about funding for security measures in schools following the Parkland shooting.

The meeting included discussions on the Basic School Resource Officer (SRO) and Advanced SRO courses, Incident Management Teams (IMT) versus the Incident Support Team (IST) concept, and updates from the Patrol on their deployment to Louisiana. Additional topics included the tactical first aid kits, anti-drone technology, and SC SWAT sustainment funding for SWAT training. The SPR Review was also discussed, and new business included the vetting of projects with Law Enforcement Set Aside Review. The group also discussed combatting domestic terrorism.
