The meeting included discussions and actions on various items, such as upholding a student discipline appeal decision with a long-term suspension, and approving Mrs. Robyn Roache as District 2 Board Member for the remainder of Mrs. Sue O'Neal's term.

The meeting included discussion of facilities use requests, fundraisers, recommendations for new hires, resignations, retirements, and medical items. Additionally, there were discussions regarding staff transfers. The board approved the purchase of 100 Chrome Books funded by ESPLOST.

The Lamar County Board of Education held a meeting to discuss the budget presentation and public comments. The board voted to approve the 2022-2023 Lamar County Schools budget and set the Millage rate.

The meeting included recognitions of the Classified Support Staff of the Month and the LCMS Softball team. The ESPLOT report was presented, and the Superintendent provided updates on fall semester athletics, MS HVAC roof, FAC and Trojan Stadium repairs and maintenance, LCS Cognia date change, GSBA Quality Board Award, transportation, McIntosh Trail, LCS Graduation Rate, and the State Audit Summary. The Board approved a policy on public participation in board meetings, the 2023 board meeting dates, the 2023-2024 school calendar, HVAC expenses for FAC, and the LCS Strategic Plan 2022-2027.

The meeting included recognitions for LCS School Nutrition with the Silver Scroll Award. Information Reports were presented by Dr. Wilson regarding ESPLOST. The Superintendent's Report included a strategic plan update, presentation of board meeting public comments procedures, budget information, and a summer school update. The board discussed school tax exemptions for Senior Citizens. The board also discussed the Capital Asset Policy, REACH Scholar Program, Spending Resolution for July, SNP Vendor Bid Award Recommendations, Coaching Assignments, RESA Contract, and School Lunch Prices.
