The Commissioners Court of Webb County adopted revised model subdivision rules pursuant to the Texas Water Code and other applicable laws. These rules apply to the unincorporated area of Webb County and require compliance for plat approval. The adoption is exempt from the Texas Private Real Property Preservation Act. Public notice was given before the session.

The Webb County Commissioners Court discussed and resolved to participate in tax abatements, adopting a tax abatement policy, guidelines, and criteria to enhance the county's competitiveness, attract new industry and investment, improve infrastructure, expand the tax base and local employment opportunities, and improve the overall quality of life for its citizens. The resolution includes guidelines and criteria for tax abatement eligibility, definitions, authorized abatements, application processes, agreement terms, recapture provisions, administration, assignment conditions, venue stipulations, and a sunset provision for the guidelines.

The public hearing is regarding a proposed tax rate increase. The proposed tax rate is $0.390000 per $100 valuation, which is greater than the no-new-revenue tax rate of $0.345157 per $100. This increase will raise property taxes for the 2023 tax year. The hearing will allow the public to express their support for or opposition to the proposed tax rate. The notice also includes information on calculating property taxes under the different rates and provides contact information for the tax assessor.
