The Poultney Mettowee Natural Resources Conservation District provides educational outreach, technical assistance, and financial support to communities and landowners to protect healthy soil and clean water, and preserve the ecological integrity and economic vitality of communities. The district's strategic approach involves programs for soil, water, and community, including agronomy and conservation assistance, water quality improvement, nutrient management planning, and tree planting. Key initiatives also encompass education, outreach, and implementation through programs like the Ecosystems Exposition, Watershed Alliance, Lake Education and Action Program, and stormwater management projects. Additionally, the district focuses on assessment and technical support, including water quality monitoring, landscape assessments, and aquatic organism passage projects. The overarching vision is a diverse and sustainable land-based economy with a resilient and ecologically-functioning natural landscape, integrated by healthy soil, water, and community.

The board discussed the injector update, extending a one-year contract to Rousseau Farm and exploring potential CEAP grants for other farms. They also covered the CWSP update, noting progress on contracts for six approved projects. Legislative updates indicated positive reception from the legislature regarding district work.
