This Strategic Plan District Vision Card monitors progress for the ECCS community. It outlines key strategic directions focusing on improving teaching and personalized learning, optimizing resource management for student learning, fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, and developing strong community partnerships. This strategic plan outlines the district's direction, focusing on Comprehensive Achievement & Civic Readiness (CACR) and Achievement & Integration (A&I). Key strategic directions include improving teaching and personalized learning, optimizing resource management, fostering a safe and inclusive environment, and developing strong community partnerships. The plan sets goals for increasing early reading proficiency, closing achievement gaps for students of color, enhancing college and career readiness, improving graduation rates, and promoting lifelong learning. Additionally, the Achievement & Integration component (2024-2026) aims to increase attendance for economically disadvantaged students, decrease failure rates for ninth-grade students of color, and increase staff diversity.

The Finance Advisory Committee meeting on May 14, 2025, covered several key areas including ECCS Capital Budgets, Special Revenue and Other Budgets, and the Financial Future and Revenue Options. Discussions also involved cost containment strategies, educational funding, and potential revenue increases through local commitment and possible operating referendums. The committee reviewed capital-related expenses for 2025-26, nutrition services, community services, debt service, and internal service funds, including health, dental, and Chromebooks. The meeting addressed revenue and expenditure assumptions, fund balances, and next steps, such as final budget assumptions and budget review for the General Fund.

The meeting included communication from the superintendent highlighting student accomplishments and summer planning. The board accepted gifts and donations, approved the MSHSL Resolution for membership for Chaska and Chanhassen High School, and approved the 2026-2027 academic calendar. Additionally, the board approved resolutions relating to the termination and nonrenewal of probationary and Tier 1 Teaching contracts, as well as SW Metro Intermediate School District Long-Term Facility Maintenance Levy Resolution and Safe Schools Levy Resolution. The board also approved the Fiscal Year 25-26 Budget. Updates were provided on the Transportation Center Land and the Spring Vision Card. A review of a potential 2025 referendum was conducted, and a second reading of Policy 529 Staff Notification of Violent Behavior by Students was presented. The meeting also included closed sessions for labor negotiation strategy and the Superintendent's Evaluation.

The meeting included discussions and actions on various topics such as gifts and donations, the Long Term Facilities Maintenance 10-year plan, and a resolution relating to determining the necessity of approving a new referendum revenue authorization and calling a special election thereon. The board also reviewed the annual survey follow-up report and the superintendent evaluation report. Additionally, there were discussions regarding labor negotiation strategy and the superintendent's evaluation during closed sessions.
