Board meetings and strategic plans from Greg Ulman's organization
The Outdoor Recreation Plan for the Village of Kronenwetter outlines a strategic direction from 2026 to 2030 to address the community's current and future recreational needs. The plan is structured around three core goals: improving existing park services, expanding bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and enhancing water access. It leverages public input, park standards analysis, and statewide recreation trends to establish recommendations for capital improvements, new park developments, and policy changes, ensuring a comprehensive and accessible outdoor recreation system for residents and visitors.
The Village of Kronenwetter is holding a public hearing to discuss the proposed 2026 operating budget. Key topics include the general fund revenues and expenditures, property taxes, intergovernmental revenues, licenses and permits, public charges for services, and other financing sources. The budget also covers expenditures for general government, public safety, public works, health and human services, culture and recreation, and conservation and development. The hearing will also address the total property tax levy required and the Village of Kronenwetter tax rate, as well as a summary of all governmental and proprietary funds.
The meeting included discussions and actions related to a nominal payment parcel report for the Old Highway 51 Multi-use Trail and the Randy and Rod Fisher Special Assessment. Reports were acknowledged from the Police Chief, Court Summary, and Community Development/Zoning Administrator. The board addressed the appointment of a trustee to fill an open Village Board seat, resolutions amending the Part Time Employee Wage Scale, adopting the Marathon County All Hazard Mitigation Plan, and providing for the imposition of a special charge for garbage collection and recycling. Also discussed were contracts for service, zoning map amendments, requests for proposals for a study of the Bull Junior Creek floodplain, and the financial management plan for 2018.
The board discussed zoning ordinance updates based on questionnaire results, revisions to financial and HR policies, and resolutions endorsing a Premier Resort Area Tax and providing for the sale of redevelopment lease revenue refunding bonds and general obligation promissory notes. They also covered the treasurer's report, budget timeline, and long-term planning with a UW-Extension consultant. Recommendations from the Property Infrastructure Committee included awarding contracts for test borings, security systems, mower purchase, park boundary work, and equipment inspections, as well as discussing long-term planning of Village properties and infrastructure, and the use of Village employees to construct trails.
The special meeting of the Kronenwetter Village Board included a review of the 2022 budget.
