The governing body convened a closed session to discuss matters related to personnel and public safety in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act.

The council held a meeting that included a Memorial Day ceremony, presentations honoring basketball and cheerleading teams, and a public comment session where questions were raised and addressed regarding town decorations. The council also approved a bills list and received a report from the council member regarding voting logistics and discussions with the borough engineer about road paving plans.

The Council meeting included the recognition of two individuals who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and the reading of proclamations for Older Americans Month, National Autism Awareness Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month. Additionally, a speaker addressed the Council to request the passage of a resolution opposing the parole of a convicted murderer.

The council meeting addressed a variety of municipal projects including the economic recovery program, NJDOT funded projects, roadway improvements on West Magnolia Avenue, Oak Avenue, and William Street, as well as PSE&G utility work. A proclamation was read to designate a day aimed at promoting traffic safety and reducing fatalities. The council heard public comments regarding the removal of garbage cans on Maywood Avenue, concerns over pedestrian safety and accessibility on county roads, and questions regarding pedestrian access at the library and potential development plans for a local site.
