The Board of Health conducted interviews for the position of Administrative Clerk. Following the interview process and a discussion regarding qualifications and department needs, the Board voted to offer the position to one of the candidates, subject to a background check and physical examination. Additionally, the Board reviewed and approved two temporary food establishment permits.

The meeting focused on discussions regarding Small Business Week and the coordination of the local reception. Additionally, the Board explored the possibility of sponsoring a Downtown Essex Visioning Forum to gather resident and business owner input on downtown improvements. Steps were identified to utilize existing survey data and review the town's strategic and economic development plans to support this future initiative.

The board conducted a public hearing regarding a change of manager for a local business and approved the request. Discussions included a report on the structural integrity of town-owned bridges, the scheduling of public forums regarding sewer debt financing, and potential updates to commercial shellfish licensing regulations. The board reviewed proposals for filming location agreements, evaluated various activities proposed by the local historical society, and discussed the implementation of a new river use fee.
