The Wheeler County Schools Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap to ensure students excel in academics, athletics, and life, fostering a culture where every individual is a leader. The plan is structured around five strategic goal areas: promoting student achievement and growth, cultivating safe and supportive school environments, strengthening family and community partnerships, ensuring operational excellence and fiscal responsibility, and enhancing staff recruitment, retention, and leadership development.

The school-parent compact outlines shared responsibilities among parents, teachers, administrators, and students to support student learning and academic success. The compact focuses on increasing student engagement, providing challenging opportunities, monitoring progress toward graduation, encouraging active participation, promoting the use of resources, and fostering regular school attendance. The goals for 2025-2026 include increasing the number of students scoring at level 3 or 4 on Georgia Milestones EOC/EOG Assessments, achieving a graduation rate of at least 90%, maintaining at least 95% student attendance each month, and increasing the number of students reading on grade level by at least 3%.
