The meeting included a presentation from Duke Energy regarding a neighborhood program designed to help customers save on energy bills by providing energy-saving items based on income. The council also held an executive session to discuss personnel matters within the Police Department.

The Belton City Council meeting included a second reading of Ordinance #532 regarding the General Election scheduled for November 7, 2017, for Council Seats in Wards 1, 3, and 5. Special recognition was given to Lauren Harrelson for achievements in tennis. Three new fire department officers were introduced. The council approved Resolution #2017-004, committing the City of Belton to provide a local match for an economic development grant to develop a trailhead with exercise equipment near downtown Belton.

The meeting included a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. A resolution was made to accept the reading of Resolution #2019-002 for paving Mattison Drive, Cox Drive, Smythe Street and Broyles Ave. A new police officer was introduced and sworn in.

The meeting included the introduction of a new full-time employee to the Belton Fire Department. The council made appointments to the City of Belton's Zoning Appeals Board. A resident raised a complaint about a neighbor's property encroachment, which was directed to the appropriate authority.

The meeting included the acceptance of Resolution #2019-001 for PARD Grant Awards from the Anderson County Legislative Delegation, amounting to $24,000 for a project at the Belton Armory Recreation Center and $35,000 for a project at Belton Landing. The Belton Alliance and its members were recognized for their work on the Rail Trail. Additionally, three new police officers were introduced and sworn in.
