The 2024-2025 ARP-ESSER III Plan for Hobart Public Schools outlines the use of funds to address the academic impact of lost instructional time and implement prevention and mitigation strategies consistent with CDC guidance. 20% of the funds ($406,521.97) will be used to address learning loss through initiatives such as updated textbooks with technology components, a summer credit recovery program, evidence-based summer camps (STEM, science, writing, reading, art), and a new elementary reading series. The remaining funds ($1,626,087.90) will be allocated to areas such as instruction, salaries, student support services (attendance, social work, guidance, psychological), curriculum development, staff training, library media services, student assessment, legal services, technology upgrades, community relations, recruitment, building operations, grounds and equipment maintenance, security, safety, and transportation. The plan prioritizes addressing the needs of students disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, including those from low-income families, students of color, English learners, students with disabilities, homeless students, students in foster care, and migratory students. Interventions will focus on academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs, including providing motivational speakers, leadership opportunities, and summer transportation.
