The meeting included discussion and approval of a consent agenda, which encompassed the approval of bills submitted for payment. A building and use request from the American Legion Post 222 to use the Courthouse Annex parking lot was also approved. Future agenda items include a budget workshop and a discussion on a burn ban.

The court ratified a building and use request from Elaine Polster for a dog adoption event and another request from Living Hope Outreach Youth Group for a fundraiser carwash. The court discussed the Hamilton County Subdivision Rules at length, including considerations for road maintenance and tax revenue offsets, and decided to schedule a subdivision rules workshop. The court also held a budget workshop, discussing revenue/expenditures, tax rate/levy, health insurance options, new/additional expenses, money rededicated to each precinct, longevity pay, and trapper expense. The court went into closed session for budget workshop and precinct 3 update on the sale of county property.

The meeting addressed potential changes in the accounting department, initiated approximately 30 days prior. Numerous options were considered, leading to a personal service agreement contract with Kent Reeves, which was unanimously approved. A closed session was held, but no action was taken following the session.

The Commissioners Court reviewed and examined the monthly report of the Hamilton County Treasurer for April 2020, and entered an order approving the report, which states the total cash and other assets on hand and investments.

The court addressed the request for 10 Commandments Monuments to be placed on the courthouse grounds, deciding to keep the item on the agenda for further discussion. They approved line item transfers and a consent agenda that included departmental reports and bills. The Hamilton County Treasurer presented the monthly financial report. The court approved an interlocal agreement with CTCOG-PSAP and the Hamilton County bank depository agreement. They also ratified a building use request from Friends Helping Veterans. The court heard a 4-H interpretation from members about their experiences at a veterinary science camp and a robotics camp. Bids were approved for caulking repairs on the courthouse. The discussion for the sheriff's fees was moved to a future meeting. The court held a budget workshop, discussing carports for the jail, staffing, and other financial matters. Roadside spraying was also discussed.
