The Whitney Point School District's Instructional Technology Plan is designed to support and enhance teaching and learning through the strategic integration of technology. The plan focuses on three main goals: providing standards-based, accessible digital content for all curricula and learners; ensuring proficiency in technology use among learners, teachers, and administrators; and maintaining a robust technology infrastructure to meet learning needs. This initiative aims to align with the district's mission to provide an excellent education, maximize student potential, and foster lifelong learning, while also adhering to NYSED initiatives for equitable educational opportunities.

The board received a comprehensive presentation regarding the Stronger Connections grant and the ongoing initiatives of the Student Success Center. Discussions focused on the center's role in providing academic support, social-emotional guidance, and intervention programs for students. Key topics included peer tutoring, the Eagle Buddies program, re-entry support for students returning from extended absences, and the utilization of grade reports to identify students in need of assistance. The presenters emphasized the positive impact of the center on student advocacy, behavioral improvements through restorative practices, and the collaborative efforts between students, teachers, and staff to address learning barriers.

The board meeting featured a presentation from a student regarding her experiences as a foreign exchange student in Stockholm, Sweden, through the Rotary Club. The discussion covered the application process for the exchange program, the role of host families, the student's academic experience at an arts-focused school, and observations on Swedish cultural practices, holidays, and architecture.

This document outlines a mission to deliver an excellent education, ensuring that all children maximize their potential, become contributing citizens, and pursue lifelong learning. The vision is to establish a community of excellence achieved through a steadfast commitment to high performance, morale, and involvement.

The meeting included discussions and a presentation related to advanced placement. A presentation on math and movement was given by Gracie Stroger and seven third-grade students. They discussed how math and movement is a kinesthetic, multisensory approach to teaching multiplication facts that incorporates physical activity in color formats. The third graders showed some really great progress and growth.
