The Council discussed various agenda items including a request from Elk Island Wild Minor Hockey Association for the installation of a mini-stick rink, and reviewed correspondence regarding grand opening invitations, municipal funding allocations, and library levies. Additionally, the Council addressed the appointment of a Deputy Mayor and considered the Regional Emergency Management Bylaw which aims to enhance regional collaboration for emergency preparedness. Departmental reports were presented by the Mayor, Council members, and administrative staff.

The council meeting addressed various operational and community items including the 2026 Summerfest update, the 2025 library financial report, and the proposed Bylaw 06-26 regarding municipal property tax partial exemptions. The council also reviewed correspondence from Alberta Municipalities and discussed budget items such as yard beautification awards and parade float funding. Additionally, reports from the Mayor, council members, and administrative staff were received.

The Council reviewed and discussed several matters, including a proclamation for Alberta Rural Health Week, the appointment of a certified panelist to the Assessment Review Board, and various municipal policy updates regarding facility use, public participation, and the repeal of outdated payment and fee policies. The Council also reviewed correspondence regarding rural labour market concerns, community events, and fundraising initiatives. Additionally, the Council authorized the attendance of members at an upcoming Rural Municipalities of Alberta conference and reviewed reports from the Mayor, Council members, and administrative staff regarding departmental activities, infrastructure projects, and municipal enforcement.

The Council meeting included a delegation from STARS Air Ambulance regarding their critical care services. Key agenda items featured a discussion on councillor absence, a plan for Council's attendance at various local parades, and the establishment of a matching fund promotion for park benches by the Parks and Recreation Committee. Council also discussed and proceeded through readings for the new Community Standards Bylaw, which aims to provide clearer, enforceable regulations regarding noise, unsightly properties, and general maintenance in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.

The Council meeting covered various topics including the proclamation of Economic Development Week and National Public Works Week. The Council discussed and authorized a donation for the Lamont County Reeve's Annual Charity Golf Tournament and approved the transfer of tax recovery costs to the tax rolls. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the 2026 Operating Budget and 3-Year Operational Plan, including revenue and expense strategies, department priorities, and per-capita financial comparisons. Additionally, the Council reviewed various municipal reports and correspondences.
