This Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap to guide the future growth and development of the Village of Mahomet and surrounding areas, aiming to ensure a continued high quality of life for its residents. The plan, with a vision extending to 2030, focuses on enhancing residential development and providing diverse housing options, fostering vibrant commercial areas and a pedestrian-friendly downtown, and improving community facilities and services. It also prioritizes expanding parks, open spaces, and environmental features, and developing a balanced transportation and mobility network. The strategic direction emphasizes thoughtful land use, intergovernmental cooperation, and sustainable practices for long-term community benefit.

The board reviewed and acted upon several resolutions and ordinances. These included awarding contracts for MFT crack and joint sealing, PCC patching and sidewalk projects, and a truss bridge temporary support project. They also approved a supplemental engineering services agreement for the redesign of South Mahomet Road. Additionally, the board discussed and took action on an ordinance authorizing the Village to borrow funds from the Public Water Supply Loan Program, and resolutions concerning acceptance of public improvements and final plats for various subdivisions. Other topics included designating a stop intersection and purchasing Panasonic Toughbook laptops for the police department. The board also discussed a parking ordinance, a stop sign request, and the downtown master plan.

The meeting included a review of the annual tax increment finance reports for FY21 and FY22 for both the East Mahomet TIF and Commercial Core TIF districts. An overview of TIF activities and projects in the East Mahomet TIF, including development projects and activities, and the Commercial Core TIF, including development projects and activities, were discussed.

The meeting included a public hearing and approval of the annual budget and appropriation of the Village of Mahomet, Illinois, along with the approval of the FY2025-FY2029 Capital Improvement Plan.
