The plan aims to promote postsecondary education, enhance skilled trades and workforce development, and contribute to the economic growth of the community.

This Parks and Recreation Master Plan for Mason County outlines a five-year roadmap (2023-2027) to guide future decision-making on recreation facilities and opportunities. The plan focuses on seven key goals: developing diverse recreational activities, promoting the county as an all-seasons destination, enhancing access to water and natural forest resources, expanding the non-motorized trail network, ensuring barrier-free access, fostering partnerships, and acquiring/developing appropriate property. Its purpose is to enhance community and visitor experiences while securing eligibility for grants.

The committee discussed consolidating and moving the County Law Library to the Mason County District Library Ludington Branch, with certain books to be kept at the request of Chief Judge Jeff Nellis. They also considered extending a contract for lawn care services with Larsen's Landscaping. Additional topics included a request to use the courthouse lawn, a contract change order, a right of entry agreement with Spectrum for FAA services, and a request to dispose of two airport framed photos. The committee also discussed the use of the Airport office suite.

The committee considered plan layout revisions for the Mason County Courthouse reconstruction project, the 2023 Airport Annual Report, and an update on the MOOT Automated Observation Station (AWOS) upgrade. They also discussed a request related to the Johnson Road ORV access point on County Airport property, a request from the Junk Authority Board for a full-time ordinance position, and a PA 116 Application. Additionally, they considered a resolution recommended by the Michigan Association of Counties and received an update on the Material Management Plan discussion with surrounding county administrators.
